As a young boy, owner, Andy Patrick, rode the school bus past the Westbrook Farm and dreamed that one day he would own the dilapidated, two story farm house and create a restaurant for fine dining. When you enter, be sure to notice the black and white photos in the main hallway. They show the house as it looked before the Patricks began extensive restoration.

The three private dining rooms allow diners to appreciate the fine dining experience with limited number of other diners. The lighting is low and always presents a pleasant "glow". Andrew's wife, Cindy, serves as hostess and makes every diner feel right at home. Reservations are necessary as the restaurant is only open on Thursday- Saturday.

As locals, we have dined at Andrews more than 20 times and the food has always been superb. Andrew knows how to prepare and present outstanding dishes. The wine list is extensive and also includes his own private Westbrook labels. Be sure to leave room for Andrew's mouth-watering desserts!

Many diners drive 50 to 100 miles to enjoy Andrew's fresh creations.

Dining here is an unforgettable experience.

My husband and I went here for dinner one evening. The place is kind of out of the way off the main road. The restaurant is in an old house, the history of it was fantastic. Excellent wine, the food was great. Really worth the price. Save some room for dessert, they had the best desserts I have ever tasted. All of the food items are prepared by the chef, even down to the homemade dressings for the salad. Great place to entertain or just sit back and relax. Show up a little earlier than your reservation and enjoy a glass of wine in the library!!

This is simply one of the best restaurants we have ever eating at. Truly a gem in the culturally deprived area of Coles county. Read the other reviews - they are accurate! Why is this place so special? The owners clearly know how to run a restaurant. The 1st floor of the their Georgian style house is used for Andrew's and it's various dinning rooms offer a warm atmosphere. Their on site vineyard and garden provide decent wine and fresh produce that when combined with Andy's flair in the kitchen has us wanting to come back. Show up 30 min early and sit in their lounge area with a bottle of wine. The only down side we could possible suggest is the wait staff do not quite have the same distinctive style as the proprietors.

My wife and I have travelled to over a hundred cities in thirty-nine countries (counting the U.S.) and have eaten in at least three hundred restaurants, and Andrew's at the Westbrook Farm is the best -- end of story. The closest competitor is Jim Croce's in San Diego. We've also eaten in fine dineries in Edinburgh, Munich, Budapest, Prague, and Salzberg.

Chef Andrew Patrick continues to vary his menu -- we've eaten there five times and have yet to see the same menu. Also, many of the herbs Andrew uses are grown right at the Westbrook Farm. Presentation is also elegant. The ambience is elegant as well, The restaurant is housed in a large midwestern farmhouse. We have always eaten in what I would guess was the sitting room.

The entire operation is smoothly run: From reservations to seating to being treated "like family." Cynthia Patrick, Andrew's better half, is a hostess par excellant. She floats around and talks with all the guests. To locals, she talks about their interests, their families, etc. To visitors from out of town, she finds out where they're from and what special occasion has brought them to Andrew's. You enter and leave feeling valued.

It's hard to describe the food because there just aren't enough superlatives. I normally don't care for cooked carrots, but when Andrew slices them thinly and simmers the in a white sauce they become my favorite vegatable. The last time I had the filet mignon smothered in bleu cheese that tasted more like a sumptuous dessert than an entree. Having said that I would suggest you leave room for dessert. Every dessert I've had at Andrew's has been one I've raved about for the next month.

By Paris, Illinois standards Andrew's is pricey, but compared to comparable restaurants in, say, New York, Paris (the other one, the one in France), Amsterdam, or London, it is ridiculously inexpensive.
