As long term TripAdvisor respondents we need to report the danger currently lurking at Wat Plai Laem. This morning one of our guests was attacked by five "Soi dogs" and bitten. We are currently dealing with the emergency.
She was a normal tourist visiting from overseas and simply admiring the Wat. Five dogs came at her ferociously, one biting her.
"Soi dogs" are sometimes an unfortunate phenomenon of Koh Samui. They need to be brought under control or managed. Soi dogs often move around in packs and sometimes spur one another on often making a nuisance of themselves.
Last year this writer was also bitten by a Soi dog while out walking - having been surrounded by a pack. This led to ongoing medical issues and complications which are still being experienced a year later!
