Booking, including car hire was faultless and communication regarding the booking with Eileen and Mark, the owners, was prompt, efficient and reassuring.
We arrived early on a Sunday morning, the airport pick-up like the villa was ready and waiting for us, as Eileen had assured. The hire car was promptly delivered to the front door and key delivered (inside the villa without a knock on the front gate as I was getting changed - more of a surprise and embarrassment to the staff member) - we established the gate could be locked with the key to ensure no further unwarranted disturbances and also narrowed down the time the staff cleaned the pool and villa (changed to 12 pm not 10-4). The staff were excellent and very happy to offer any assistance and the villa, inside and out was spotless (baring one dark hair on the sink in the master en suite).
Although being a 'private' villa with a lovely pool, it was quite disappointing to have the windows of the lounge room, kitchen and dining area of the villa next door look directly onto the deck and pool area of this villa, without any shutters or screening. I did ask about it but was reassured that if the occupants of that villa kept their blinds shut they couldn't see in - they didn't which reduced the privacy significantly, unfortunately. I ended up moving three of the four beach umbrellas in front of the windows.
The location was OK, we were aware that it did not front a swimming beach, which was fine. The commercial boat harbour outside the front gate however meant there was a bit of foot traffic and motor bikes in the mornings and evenings. That said the boats were interesting and made for some good photos coming and going from the harbour.
There is a small 7/11 corner store and a couple of road stalls relatively close to the villa but you'd want to have the car to access the main fish/meat/vegetable markets and/or the supermarkets, as well as other sights and shops/markets around the island. We drove around the island, trying to avoid Chaweng as much as possible, and there are some great places, although a lot of people (it is Ko Samui after all). If we were to return I think we'd explore more secluded options. With a hire car the whole island is easily accessible. You could go out, look around, shop, buy lunch/dinner and return to real seclusion and privacy.
If you do stay here we highly recommend strolling 3-5 mins along the beach, past the palm trees to the brand new restaurant, 'Tides' (recommended to us by the villa manager) - we ate here twice during the week and the dishes and atmosphere were excellent. It's right on the beach beautiful decor and an amazing view.
The villa was clean and tidy, the pool was great and we did have a very relaxing time - just a shame about it not being particularly private.

Just had the pleasure of staying in Koh Samui Boat Lagoon.
We stayed in Villa 1, which was entered by its own private gate.
We had our own infinity pool, which was fab, as it was so warm.
We had our own kitchen including cooker, microwave, fridge etc.
The bedroom was a romantic paradise, when we arrived the bed was decorated with rose petals. The villa has two seperate rooms, linked by the pool, which comfortably sleeps four.
We felt very welcome, the staff were welcoming and made us feel immediately at home.
We have already booked to return.
