This restaurant specializes in Oaxacan food so the menu is different than most Mexican Restaurants. This was our second visit and both times the food was very good.
The restaurant is quite small and is at the very end corner of a large strip mall, so it is easy to miss. Although the food is good, the cleanliness of the restaurant could be better. There was dried salsa on the salt and pepper shakers and the table centerpieces were rather dusty.
The mole is homemade and is AMAZING! On our first viist, we spoke to the owner. She indicated that all of the peppers and seasonings used in the mole are imported from Oaxacha. She spends one whole day preparing and cooking the mole. The end result is delicious. I do not typically care for mole, but tried it since it is listed as a "can't miss" on the menu. It did not disappoint as it was tasty and had a lot of depth of flavor.
My husband enjoyed a dish that is like a foldover Mexican pizza. He had steak added and found it to be quite flavorful.
This is a good restaurant that offers a different take on Mexican food, but the atmosphere can use some sprucing up.
