Last minute change of plans for New Years ended up eating at this amazing restaurant. They had 3 seatings 4;30 , 6;30 and 9;00. We chose 6;30 because the snow was already pretty heavy and driving later would be too risky. We were greeted by Mary at the door and she seated us nest to the wine cellar which was really nice. We started off with appetizers of shrimp cocktail, risotto with short ribs and the bruschetta with goat cheese and beets. They were delicious. Next came a wonderful salad of mixed greens. There were several choices on the menu for entrees ranging from surf and turf , and three other choices which i cant remember because we all had surf and turf. The lobster was done perfectly, and the filet was a very nice size also done to perfection. We were not rushed in any way, and the waitress was wonderful. If you haven't been here yet you really should try it, as the food is always consistent and the place is cozy and very bistro feeling with the decor. They also have a nice bar, and in the summer outdoor seating with an option of outdoor/indoor for just so so weather. They also have a very nice selection of wines reasonably priced as well. I think you'll be back as regulars as we have been.

First time dining at Agio and found the food to be very good. All in our party were satisfied with the quantity and quality of the food. Service was very good with our waitress offering many specials and thoroughly explaining the choices of specials and menu items. We ordered two bottles of red wine and were very pleased with the selection.

However, there are a couple of downsides to this establishment: 1)very small parking area for such a popular restaurant. We were able to find a spot in the lot, but there were several cars waiting for spots and 2)select a table away from the entry way. We did not and several customers waiting to be seated were right at our elbows while we ate. Very unsettling.

These two points are minor irritants, the service and food were very good and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good Italian restaurant in the NW suburbs.

Seldom in this neck of the woods so it is always great to get back here. Especially love coming here on a Sunday night when the place is much quieter. The place is just lovely and a great place for a wonderful meal. I do think they skimp on the amount of wine given in a glass considering the price. Food is great and the service on a non Friday or Saturday is fantastic. My friend and I both has pasta dishes this time--simply fantastic!

Food was good, but a tad pricey. Staff was fine. Stingy as usual for Italian restaurants with the wine by the glass. Had basic Ravioli which was very good, wife had a seafood special which was OK at best, tough to find any seafood in the dish.

Visited at 6 pm on Friday, June 28. First time there. Courteous greeter. Seated promptly. Wait staff handled drink order efficiently. Friends arrived a few minutes after we did. Table for 4. White tablecloth, black cloth dinner napkins good idea...no white lint. Attractive restaurant, good ambiance, relatively easy to converse in light of full house around us. Our courses: Caprese salad, perfect, aged/reduction balsamic nice. My Eggplant Parmesian very tasty, perfect portion, my wife had Rigatoni Bolognese, excellent. If I recall correctly, the eggplant parm was $20, the pasta was $17, so a little high, but not way out of line considering the likely overhead on a nice looking place. Service was good.
