I made the trek out to Nikau Cave Cafe after a recommendation from a work colleague. It is out in the wops, about an hour and a half from Auckland. The cafe has a large outdoor seating area with a landscaped area, and the hills of a working farm beyond the fence. It is a great outlook and very peaceful. The staff are friendly and relaxed. There are only a couple of people working here so the food is a little slow compared to city cafes, but why would you be in a hurry when it has taken so long to get there. The pizza was amazing, generous in size with great flavour.
I will be back, though next time I will bring a group of friends to share the experience and include a trip to the caves.
