I read on Asian Geographic that tarsier was believed to exist the same time as Dinosaurs & they survived to today! They are not exactly endangered but it is good effort to conserve them.

These are the cutest small primates you can imagine. It is absolutely worth the effort to go and see them. You should certainly not see them in a cage. The primates at this place are free to come and go as they wish so make sure that your money is actually helping these wonderful primates.

Try to go by public transport as described on sancturay's homepage. The bus goes every 30 minutes but like elsewhere in the Philippines there are also plenty of jeepnies, these come handy when you head back to town. Going by the public bus was in itself a nice experience.

a great sanctuary for the tarsier.. tho the staff are taking care of the tourist their main priority is still the welfare of the tarsier... tarsiers cant tolerate too much noise because of their sensitive ears.. on our stay there a group of tourist made a loud laugh then suddenly we just heared an angry sounding voice from the outside saying.. Keep quite.... then I just knew.. the tarsier here are really being protected.. thank s to the effort of manong lito..
the place is out of the way from other tourist spots there in bohol.. but its worth the effort...

Definitely worth a visit. The tarsiers are adorable. You don't get a lot of time with them to reduce the disturbance, but it is still worth the trip.
