“A nice Bank Holiday lunch.”
Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

How places change! It does not seem too long ago when a previous visit to the White Horse at Otterbourne took place, so the difference was quite noticeable. A simple but well prepared Fish'n Chip lunch was more than sufficient on a recent visit. And it was nice and quite enjoyable. I remember a similar meal at this pub-restaurant and it seemed very ordinary. Not on this recent occasion. We sat outside in the garden area, and it all was clean, tidy and well laid out. A great improvement. Another visit will be something to look forward to.

“Poor and over priced”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

We took our parents here on Friday and we were so disappointed. We all had the lamb and it was dry and tasteless. I did tell the waitress but no one came to speak to us about it. Over priced - £122 for four main courses, thee desserts and a bottle of wine! Portions were so small even the waiter advised us to order side dishes! Won't go again.

“Very pleasant but nothing special”
Reviewed August 31, 2013

Had a lovely meal this evening at the white horse- we sat outside for a meal and the set up is beautiful with a large garden also. Waitressing very good. Could do with some music for more of an atmosphere. In my opinion it is over priced for what it is though- would come back again :)

“Not as good as the reviews here...”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

Location - nice garden, plenty of parking. Seemed to be a really good atmosphere, as there was a Bank Holiday party in the Beer Garden.

Food - Quite pricey; there was a kids menu at ~£8 for meal and dessert. We had a salad that was good, some lemon sole that hadn't been cleaned properly, having blood around the gills, that spoiled the moment there - for £15, that was not good. Desserts were very good.

This was my first and only visit here; led by the good reviews on Trip Advisor. If I'm back in the area again, I'd probably try elsewhere.

“Great place for an evening out”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

Excellent food although it is a little pricey. The restaurant gets booked up very quickly so reservations are very much needed especially at a weekend. The food is interesting and portion sizes are good. Service friendly. A couple of the tables for two are a little tight on size.
