We normally stay at another Hotel in town and gave this one a shot due to an indoor pool. Turns out the pool was closed from 8 to 9 for an event. Then it was cold and the hot tub was 85 degrees. There was a Prom going on until 11 pm with music so loud, no way you could get sleep. So if you want to be rested or need to be up bright and early, stay elsewhere!! There priority clearly isn't well rested guest. If you want to go to the bar and play slots, it is for you! We ate dinner at the restaurant, very good eats. Just don't plan on getting sleep if you stay here!!!

We had two rooms. All four of the mattresses were different. That really makes no difference, but it was a little funny. Two of the beds had clean sheets. We were lucky there, because when we called the desk and told them there was hair on the pillows and debris in the beds, we learned that they had no clean sheets to give us. We were also lucky that they had a plunger, because they had no maintenance person to unclog the toilet in one of the rooms. We were also exceedingly lucky that we still had that plunger when we discovered that the sink in the same room was completely stopped up. The front desk was very friendly and accommodating when we needed cleaning supplies to clean up the splashing around the sink from having had to use the toilet plunger in it. They gave us a spray bottle with a little disinfectant spray and a half roll of paper towels.

We felt pretty lucky that the hot tub held 4 people snugly and that it wasn't too hot.... 90 something degrees. But I think we were probably the luckiest that no one sinister came in through the back doors that had no locks whatsoever (only holes and duct tape where there might have once been a lock).

Oh yeah, we were also lucky that we didn't have to get a good night's sleep for anything important the next day. The family next door yelled and cried a whole lot. Dad, who was drinking quite heavily, was spending his last night together with his kids before the kids were going to move out of state due to divorce. We could hear it all. Their situation was so upsetting and heartbreaking that I cried for them. Then the construction guys were up and at 'em by 8:30 on a Saturday morning, which was just loud and annoying.

Nice and friendly staff Good prices..... Tired hotel. Needs brighter lights in hallways. They are dark and not welcoming. Hotel needs updating inside and out. But I love the old swings outside from years gone by .

The Holiday is a modest hotel plopped down in a small town in the middle of nowhere in Illinois. My husband and I were visiting family for one night and figured this would be more than adequate for our trip. We arrived into town early and the front desk was super accommodating and able to find a room for us so we could check in early. The woman checkin us in was friendly and welcoming. We had a non-smoking room with two queen beds that had outdoor entry. The room smelled fresh and was clean. There were plenty of towels and amenities available. The beds were firm, yet comfortable. There were only two pillows per bed but as there were only two of us it was plenty. The room also included a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. We enjoyed the flat screen television and the amount of cable channels that were available.

We met with family for a private party and dinner at the buffet. The service was friendly and quick. Our drinks stayed filled and our dirty plates were promptly cleared. The food was good, not great, but good. The hotel and restaurant had the feeling that this was the place to go on the weekend for dinner with family. We liked it as it made the atmosphere lively and happy. I'm not sure when we'll be back but we'll be sure to stay here again on our next visit.
