“A community center that promotes local talent as well as books”
Reviewed March 1, 2012

The library is a beautiful building fitting for Oak Park. Every month there is a new exhibit by a local artist in its gallery. It has a great collection of DVDs. Many local organizations use its meeting rooms for lectures, discussions, etc. The staff is very courteous and helpful and seems to love working there.

“LOVE THIS PLACE!”
Reviewed January 29, 2012

This is the most amazing library and is part of one of the best library systems I've seen and been too in IL. Now mind you I just moved to IL so I don't have a lot to compare it too but I still think this may be the best in the Chicagoland area. The facility is amazing, lots of rooms to study in, plenty of computers for people to surf the net on, there are lots of chairs in nooks and crannies of the building on all of the different floors (3 total). All the staff if helpful and knowledgeable about new releases, old releases and what department books fall into. It's great, check it out!

I must add that the Oak Park system has 3 different branches and is of SWAN,a consortium of suburban libraries that includes about 80 different library systems (they joined in July 2010). It is simply fabulous because you can get pretty anything now! Unfortunately Chicago is not part of this system, but I don't care it's still fabulous!
