Great stay for a long weekend at Squirreled Away. We rented this cabin for three nights and loved every minute of it. This cabin has two downstairs bedrooms, one with king and one with queen/dbl bed. The kitchen is small but very well stocked with dishes, cookware, and glassware. The upstairs loft is a great kids room or area to have game time, etc. The televisions are good and the cable works. The WIFI is very good and the password is in the binder the owners have prepared. This cabin is secluded in the winter and when the leaves are in you wouldn't even know you had neighbors.
The directions you get from the rental company are accurate but not the best. The road you enter on forks right after the railroad tracks, stay to the left. As you go up the mountain, you will see a small square dead end sign, the road continues to the left. The lake sign they tell you to look for is hard to see, especially at night, so focus on the street sign. The street sign for the road the cabin is on is non-reflective but the one going the other way is.
The rental agency gives you a code for the lock which is nice. They had lights on for us when we arrived which was also nice. They were EXTREMELY nice on the phone before we arrived and very, very helpful in taking the time to see if there were cabins better suited for what we wanted.
The hot tub on the front porch is probably best for 2-4 people and takes a long time to warm up. If you want to use it while you are there, turn heat on upon arrival.
The heat/ac work great and the indoor fireplace is nice. You may want to bring your own firewood or duraflames because the wood was wet after snow/rain of last week or green.
We can't wait to go back to Squirreled Away.
