Our family had an amazing time here! We weren't sure what to expect but we were so bored and tired of dreary Illinois winter weather that we decided to book it, invite some family friends, a few of the kids friends, load up the car and head to Nauvoo!
We had old-fashioned fun playing board games, cooking, baking and exploring the local scene which is something out of a storybook or off Little House on the Prarie! The kids didn't have their cell phones glues to their fingers like usual and everyone was really having a great time! No hair dryers, makeup or irons necessary- pack light and keep it simple! It was such a nice break and a great opportunity to "unplug" although there was internet and cell service if you really needed it!
A cute little supermarket if you forgot something, it's more conservative in general given it's a mormon community- would be best to leave your mini-skirt or crop top at home. :)
It snowed while we were there- it was so scenic...the cabin was comfortable...modern amenities and a full kitchen.
We don't live in Illinois but look forward to another vacation in Nauvoo and find ourselves reminiscing often of all the fun we had! :)More
