“Always Great”

The food is always great and the service is friendly and attentive without being pushy. If you love creole food - this is for you.

“you gonna go back”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2013

Cozy restaurant with the small bar. I went there twice, both Saturday evenings, so it was very busy, so it's better to have reservation to avoid the wait. The service was good, and the food and the drinks were delicious.

“Subpar Gumbo, Very Tender Prime Rib”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2013

Nothing special, and I have had better Cajun style cooking. The blueberry blasters for desert were overbaked. The gumbo soup was uninteresting. Since I am allergic to shrimp I was unable to have the fried oysters, since they are fried in the same oil. Large menu.

“Under Rated”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013 via mobile

Street parking can be a little tough but there are parking lots within easy walking distance. The restaurant is long and narrow with a small bar in the front. One wall is covered with shelves hot sauce, the other wall with artwork. The service is great and they will leave you alone while eating and having a conversation. Another poster said it's not authentic enough. True ... But you're a 1000 miles away from a fresh crayfish catch and I doubt the cooks can spell Zatarains without looking at the bag. If that's a problem then don't go. The blue plate lunch special is a sure thing for $10. Show up hungry and leave happy with a stomach full of New Orleans STYLE goodness. Naperville has some great restaurants but this one should be much higher ranked than 52.

“A bit of New Orleans in the midwest.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

Over spiced gumbo but other dishes are good.Catfish bites were decent. Liked the sweet potato polenta although its like eating baby food. $5 Beermosa was interesting. A lively crowd sat at the small bar. The wall of hot sauce is neat looking.
