“Superb Italian Food”
Reviewed January 14, 2014

Sometimes little stip malls have wonderful shops and restaurants that might otherwise go unnoticed. We have watched John start up a little restaurant, hire staff that are still there, remodel, expand and grow his business while maintaining his personal standards of excellent Italian cuisine. If you prefer quality food and service over atmosphere, this is your place.

“Awful Italian”
Reviewed January 9, 2014

We went to this place on a recommendation of a friend. The bar is tiny and the service SUCKED!!! It wasn't packed, so you would anticipate the bar tender would be more attentive to the customers. Nope. Just sat and talked with his regular customers. We got seated and ordered our food. The salad was droopy and drenched in dressing. We had an appetizer which was salty and greasy. Everyone raved about the vodka sauce, so I tried that. It was a step above wallpaper paste. Thick and extremely bland. This place is a step below Olive Garden, but unlike Olive Garden, you don't have 7-11 next door and scenic view of a busy street.

“Great staff”
Reviewed December 31, 2013 via mobile

We happened upon Angeli's after a frigid evening at Morton's Arboretum in Lisle, it was the only sit-down Italian restaurant within 4 miles. The staff was super-friendly and the manager was extremely helpful and gracious as well.

Because of the service, the whole experience was really nice but being Italian with high standards for what I would consider authentic cuisine, the food missed the mark for me there. The marinara sauce in particular was a bit too 'tomato pasty' for my tastes.

It's a good spot for families and small groups.

“Always enjoyable!”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

We are frequent diners at Angeli's and have enjoyed consistently excellent food, spirits and service. The specials are imaginative and delicious. It is not a fancy restaurant but it is someplace where you will feel valued as a customer and have a great meal. Try it!

“Bummed it wasn't better.”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

Our family of four tried Angeli's on a whim knowing it had mixed reviews on Trip Advisor. The service was fine. We had a great waitress and hostess. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that good. Just plain average. Our table tried a mix of items...cheese ravioli, flatbread, salads, chicken piccata, spaghetti and meatballs and baked rigatoni. Wasn't horrible...wasn't great. For $100 for a family of four (includes two glasses of wine) I expect better.
