“You don't need to drive all the way to the city for ITALIAN pizza”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

I don't know who the grinch is that wrote the 1 x terrible review but it wasn't balanced. Yes, I do agree it's a little "too cool for school", yes, the decor could be a little less austere and yes, it could do with an injection of warmth BUT the food MAKES THIS PLACE.
The pizza is every bit as good as anything I've ever eaten in Italy. We used to drive 1 hour every other week to Spacca Napoli north of the City and now, it's once every couple of months. These guys take great pride in their ingredients; from the simply antipasti including rich, creamy burrata to pizzas that truly separate themselves from the pack...sublime!
My only detraction is the lack of a decent bottle of wine in the high-$20's - $30 range. It's $45 and up for something you'd remember. Spoil your fans...do a "wine of the week/month"; bin-end or other.

“REALLY good!”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

Very urban feel and great location downtown Naperville. Truly authentic Italian, specifically Roman, food including awesome antipasta meats and cheeses. Try the Speck Pizza as the flavors are so fresh and ingredients are from Italy. Great service and the chef even came to our table to chat.

“Great pizza in Naperville”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

There's now two wood oven pizza places, and this one takes the prize. The other one is simply Neo's ugly step-sister. Great pizza, and the other dishes were very good. Wine selection is top notch, and the atmosphere mirrors some great places in Chicago. Worth a trip. I would highly recommend the food here.

“Good food/wine, lounge-like ambiance”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

The atmosphere at Neo is dimly lit, and looks like a lounge you might find in a River North (Chicago) restaurant/lounge/bar. If you like that style, you will love Neo. The food and drink is pretty reasonably priced, as two people can easily split a pizza. We bought a bottle of wine to share, which was their cheapest selection, though it was very good. Great wine prices. I wasn't overly wild about some selections we made on our charcuterie platter, but that just means we will have to go back and try some more. We were there on a Saturday night until about 10:30, and there was not very many people in there, and there was surely not a lot of bar action going on. So if you are looking for the Naperville bar scene, you probably won't find it inside Neo. The service is good, not outstanding, but surely acceptable. I will go back to Neo when I get a chance.

“Reminded us of Chicago dining”
Reviewed April 22, 2013 via mobile

Went with another couple on a Sunday night. Atmosphere reminded me of eating in Chicago, small dining room with a high ceiling and dark lighting. The pizza guys were fun to watch as they flipped the dough in the air. Another table had several kids that were also enjoying the informal entertainment. The mozzarella appetizer was amazing! We would go back just for that and the good pizza was just a bonus. Parking was annoying and we ended up parking in the top lot instead of the ground floor but worth the trip. We will go back when in the mood for expensive pizza.
