Wow, only sorry I waited until my oldest was nine to take her here. What a great place for kids of all ages. Creative and imaginative play inspired throughout the museum. My daughter and I enjoyed every exhibit. I have a two month old now and will plan a return trip in the spring. Far drive from Flossmoor but worth the trip. I gave it a four on value as it would be good to offer a lower rate for toddlers or a two for one deal on certain days. A four on sights as sometimes it was a bit dark inside though we went on a rainy day.

A fairly average children's museum. The first floor is nice, with a decent diversity of sections, including a water table, construction areas, light and sound rooms. Second floor is not nearly as well thought out and the rotating exhibit was pretty mediocre.
Can't say this compares to Kohl's or Chicago children's museum, both of which are superior, but not a bad place if you are in he area.
No food (other then vending) at this time, but they are in the process of building a cafe on the bottom floor which should be open by 2013.

Haven't been here since my kids were young, but remember kids enjoyed it. There was a lot of hands on things for them to experiment with. It's large enough for kid's to run around and get their energy out a bit.

The Museum has educational, interactive exhibits for kids from 0 to about 12. it is not a museum in the "quiet, formal" sense; it is more like an educational play place. It features exhibits like the Bubble Booth (where kids create and stand in a huge bubble!), wood shop (saw and nail together a wooden project), water table (where kids can use tubes to redirect water fountains), air area (make a ball hover in the air!), shadow area (use light to draw on a wall), and theater (take props and act out a play).
The staff on the floor consist of very nice, kids-friendly, and safety-oriented adults as well as junior high and high school volunteers. These people help show kids examples of what can be done with exhibits, thus sparking creativity. They also hold special activities like story-book reading, artwork classes, and birthday parties.
The Museum is clean and designed to be a fun and safe environment.
Highly recommended for a family with young children.

Excellent children's Museum. Would rate it as good if not better than Kohls or Chicago's own. Best for kids under 10 years old. Small toddler area.
