The riverwalk is the crown jewel of Naperville. A stroll by the river and the woods is always good to clear your mind and relax.

“The Heart of the 'Ville”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

Having lived in Naperville long enough to see the Riverwalk come to it's current beauty, I could not be more proud. It is a delightful mix of retail, woods, residential and, of course, river. Grab a friend, loved one or dog and take a stroll.

“I don't see what the fuss is.”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

I noticed that several glowing reviews are not even for the right location. This is the Naperville portion of the river, near Centennial Beach. The Riverwalk itself is not bad, but it is small and the people that visit make it very uninviting. If you are able to luck out and find a time when it is not overcrowded with incredibly rude people and you find a parking space, you might enjoy it for the 10 minutes it takes to soak it all in. But the other 99.9% of us will find the park filled with unsupervised kids, bratty adults, angry geese, and tons of goose poop. I mean tons! Do not wear good shoes there, especially during the migration. Aside from the ducks and geese, there was very little wildlife to see every time I visited. I do not know if it is from all the people around or a water quality issue, but I have seen one turtle and 3 small fish in four years. If you can make it past the part where all you see is the backs of buildings, some areas look quite nice. I find that the best time to go is late mornings in mid-May before the schools let out for the summer and the geese are not migrating.

“Naperville's Riverwalk is worth the drive.”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

So many things to do there....just go for a nice stroll, jog, picnic, take kids to the park, feed the geese and ducks (even though your not supposed to...LOL). Bikes and rollerskates are not permitted on the sidewalks which is nice if your walking. Its right by downtown Naperville so you can walk over and have a nice lunch or a drink - lots of restaurants and bars to chose from. You can also spend part of the day shopping in downtown Naperville. Its like a mini downtown Chicago. Beautiful areas to take photographs so come prepared.

“The Gem of Naperville”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

We have lived here for 25 years and watched the evolution of Naperville. The one thing that is constant is the Riverwalk. It is a wonderful place to go for walks, read books or just enjoy nature. It can get crowded at times, but you can always escape to downtown for a bite to eat. Improvements have been made over time and unlike some of Naperville's "improvements" that have added to the Riverwalk experience - not taken away.
