“Interesting even for a 10-year old!”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

Exhibits are well done and the 'educators' are well prepared and are able to relate the information to the audience!

“Lame excuse for a "museum"”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

First off this attraction is WAY, WAY overpriced in terms of any value you receive. Second, what you really get isn't much at all since the settlement is little more than the size of a square city block and nothing more than collection of about a dozen buildings, many of which are just facades that you can't even enter or tour. Only a couple of the buildings are actually historical and nearly all in this category were relocated to the settlement. The rest of the buildings are not even historical, just someone's best guess at a reproduction. The buildings, ground, etc. appear to receive minimal maintenance with lots of weeds and worn paths through the lawns and many areas of the structures looking long in the face... or maybe that is part of the effect they are trying to create... dilapidated?

Considering the history of the beginnings of Naperville isn't much to write home about to start with and much of it is actually an embarrassment the whole Naperville Settlement concept is closer to smoke and mirrors more than any historical substance.

Save your money and take a walk down Webster to Aurora Ave and head to the Riverwalk instead. You'll save a bunch and get some good exercise plus you can see just about everything through the fence without spending a cent.

“Chapel Wedding”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

We attended a wedding in chapel at Naper Settlement this past weekend. The chapel was charming and rustic. The rest of the settlement park was also very charming and cute. We walked around the park there. The grounds were nicely kept and clean.

“Reenactment was GOOD FUN.”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

The environment is very picturesque. The chickens wandering around the farm area are very fun to watch. Try to go on a day with an event or pack a picnic and create an event for your family.
