This is my favorite bbq in the entire world. Ive never had a bad meal. Their sauce goes perfectly with every kind of meat they serve. Anybody who loves bbq has to try some from Mike Mills.

This bar was old and dirty, very loud, and not very friendly. I was told later on that they are preserving their existence by living off of their once great ribs!

We have dined at 17th street for years. They have won all kinds of awards and been featured on countless cooking specials on the food network. The original location is in Murphysboro, but they have additional locations in Marion and O'Fallon, IL. They have some of the best BBQ you will ever taste. My husband is a fan of the ribs, but I prefer the pulled pork. They serve the BBQ with this "magic dust" which is a blend of all kinds of special spices. The prices are reasonable too. You can get a generous size sanwich with two sides for around $9. My favorite is the BBQ nachos. You'll have a bed of tortilla shells piled high with shredded BBQ meat, cheese, sour cream, jalpenos, and other garnishments. Although it is an appetizer, I enjoy it as a meal. Stop by when you're in Murphy!

We had heard about this place, so we decided to put it on the agenda for a road trip. We were very pleased to find a nice cozy unassuming place, that was not full of itself after being featured on TV. The pulled pork was excellent, and the ribs were amazing! Moist and tender, but not mushy. The ribs are lightly seasoned, so that the flavor of the meat carries through; and it is that flavor that will bring us back again. Sauce is available, but as the great pit masters will tell you, great BBQ doesn't need any help from sauce.

Our second visit prompts this review. We had heard about this place for quite a while before we stopped the first time. At this place one visit will not be enough. It's reputation is well deserved.

A pulled pork sandwich for my wife and brisket for me. We shared four sides: baked beans, cole slaw, green beans and French fries. We managed to save room for a dessert - and what a treat it was: bread pudding with praline sauce - perhaps not a good as they serve in New Orleans but close enough that you don't care - it was most excellent!

With tax and gratuity: 35 bucks.

Before you leave the place on your first visit you will be planning your next visit.
