We just have stayed at Matikuri. It is a wonderful lodge on a small asland in the lagoon. The bungalows are huge with a nice deck over the water. At Matikuri they cook your meals and those are very nice! They also have activities like snorkeling trips, nightsnorkeling, fishing, village visits and hiking. I would really recommend the night snorkeling. Then you can spearfish for your own greyfish and eat it later on.
For me it was paradise! A laid back property with a very good fibe!
The only thing you have to watch out for is that the prices given on the internet are not correct and you can end up paying much more than you expext it. We can't blame the owner for that as he also didin't know he had a website! He only has a mobile phone. And we recommend you to book straight throug him by calling his mobile. Than you know the right price and you dont pay a travel agent a fee for booking for you. And that fee does not go off the bill you pay.
The price for accomodation is now SD 285(bungalow) and mealplan SD 165 p.p.
Expect to pay +/- SD 600 for a trip like snorkeling etc. They only accept cash and you cannot go to an ATM nearby. So take a lot of money with you!
It feels like being a bit ripped of when you have to pay a bill twice as high as you expected it to be, but I have to say, it was worth the money!!!! It is a really great place and I will recommend it to everybody!
