We were staying in nearby Llandudno and as we went to the reserve on foot it was not an easy place to find or to approach. It would be rather easier to get to by car as it's off a busy road. Once we reached the reserve, however, our struggle to arrive was quickly forgotten as we found a lovely and tranquil piece of countryside with great views of Conwy and its magnificent castle. The friendly and knowledgeable staff were only too happy to help us identify the wide array of birds that make their home in the expanses of water, and those that prefer the trees and bushes. There are hides to observe the birds scattered over the reserve, and we had a lovely walk visiting every one. After this, we had refreshments in the lovely cafe. We would wholeheartedly recommend the RSPB reserve as a great way of passing a few hours with the family and we hope to visit there ourselves again soon.
