“Now This Is A Pork Chop!”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

When people ask for the place to get the best Bar-B-Que in the south suburbs, just tell them to look for the sign with the giant rotating pork chop. And that’s no joke.

The pork chop served at Hog Wild is, indeed, the tastiest I’ve ever eaten. Not only is it thick, it is juicy; an excellent combination, giving the meat an excellent taste. It is prepared sans sauce, so there is no danger of the sauce burning, or the flavor being changed by the heat of cooking. But sauce-lovers need not worry—there is plenty of Hog Wild’s own bottled brand on the tables. The pork chop dinner, a bargain at $9.75, comes with a choice of one of three kinds of potatoes, plus one of four other sides.

And if you’re wanting your pork in a different form, there’s always a slab or half-slab of ribs waiting, or a pork tenderloin or pulled pork sandwich. And if you want something beefier, there’s the beef brisket sandwich, or a choice of two steak sandwiches. A beef sandwich and burgers are also on the menu.

And if your tastes go towards chicken, there’s plenty of that meat on the grill, waiting to go into a sandwich of your choosing. And if you don’t want a chicken sandwich, there are other meats to be put between bread, including corned beef, and polish sausage. For the meatless diner, there’s the portobello mushroom sandwich. You can even order a BLT.

Salads range from a small side, to salads featuring steak or chicken. Sides are also available separately.

This is great food in an extremely well-run establishment. While you’re ordering your food at the counter, someone is looking for a table for you. (Servers then bring your order to table.) One Warning: CASH ONLY.

Excellent children’s menu. Take-out available.

Your taste will indeed go “Hog Wild”.

“GREAT pulled pork sanwich”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

The pulled pork sandwich was great!. Such a large serving that you need to eat some the pulled pork off of the top of the sandwich before you attempt to close the bun and eat it.
The pork is mildly seasoned and not spicy. They do have additional hot and mild "hog wild" brand bbq sauce to add. The bun stood up to the pork and was not soggy. The fries were crinkle cut and hot and not greasy.
Overall a great value at $6.95 + $1.50 for a drink (large drink, refills free)
Very casual. After you order your food at the counter, you are assigned a table and they bring your food to your table. They also give you cups at the counter and you fill your drink cup at a self serve fountain.
"Lodge" atmosphere like a cabin in the North woods with log siding etc.

Reviewed September 18, 2013 via mobile

Drove by a few days ago and restaurant looked interestng. Went there for lunch and was and was pleasantly surprised. Cash only, menus on wall when you enter. You order and pay before you sit down. They give you a table number and your food is brought to you. Service is very fast and restaurnt was very clean. Food was very good and large portions. You will not go hungry. A final surprise was the cake and coffee on the rear drink counter that came with the meal. Worth the visit.
