“Nice but remote”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 14, 2012

Looking at the map, we thought that this hotel was at the edge of the metro Saint Louis area. That technically may be true, but for all practical purposes, it is not. Besides the hotel, all that you will find at that exit is a gas station and an airport that no longer has commercial flights. The nearest fast food is 3 miles away. We drove a few exits to find a sit-down restaurant. However, the hotel is in a nice, new facility. The staff was also responsive; we called them when we spotted dog mess in the hallway, and they cleaned it up right away.

Breakfast: The standard La Quinta breakfast was fine, but we would have liked some ice water.
Bathroom: shower/tub combo
Blow dryer: yes
Internet: In-room wifi available free of charge. We had no problems with the wifi.
Elevator: yes

Before you get ready to retire, check that you have a TV schedule, paper and pen and laundry bag in your spanking new room. Other than that, it was as nice of a LQ we have ever stayed.

I was in the St Louis area for a weekend meeting. Although this was about a 35 minute drive from my meeting location, the low nightly rate and room size (a king suite) made this my choice rather than another La Quinta closer to the city.

I stayed three nights and was completely pleased with my stay. My suite included two large, separate rooms -- a living room and a bedroom -- each with an a/c unit and flatscreen HDTV. It was nearly 100 degrees outside, but the a/c kept the room at a wonderfully comfortable mid-60 degree temperature...perfect for someone from the much cooler northwest! This place seems to be a well-kept secret -- it looked like very few people were staying here, judging from the near-empty parking lot and quiet halls.

The living room area included a comfortable sofa and armchair, wet bar, mini fridge and microwave. I prepared a few meals in the room and brought food in a couple of times after returning to the hotel from my meetings.

The two minor complaints I had -- the water pressure in my room was almost non-existent. Barely a trickle from the shower and sinks made it hard to clean up. The other comment that others have mentioned is that there are no nearby restaurants or other services -- the place is out in the middle of a soybean field without even a sign at the highway to direct you to the hotel. There's a McDonalds and Dairy Queen about 3 miles away, and lots of choices about 15 minutes west, but only a small convenience store close to the hotel.

I'd stay here again for sure -- my dog loved the extra room and I loved the quiet.

Driving to Nashville, TN this was a stop between home and there. Was nervous at first. Nothing around it except interstate and a gas station. Friendly staff. It's new hardly broken in, quiet and accommodating!

Room Tip: No restaurant attached so no room service
