Description: Illinois was recently named one of "11 Top BBQ Cities in America" by Thrillist, thanks to 17th Street. Mike Mills and his crew are proud to support and shine a spotlight on Southern Illinois, sharing the gospel of barbecue and their delicious food both in Southern Illinois and nationwide. At 17th Street, barbecue is a culture, not a concept. The restaurant is a community gathering place where guests become family. Rooted in history and family, their delicious barbecue smoked using local apple wood and their famous Magic Dust(R). Owner Mike Mills has devoted his life to the pits and is considered by his peers a true pioneer, legend, and leading force in the barbecue world.

“Good place for variety”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

Although 17th Street's specialty is barbeque and ribs, there are many other choices if several in your group have different tastes. We got their special potato skins (with barbeque on them!) and though I didn't eat them, two orders were gone in no time. Everyone in our group enjoyed some form of barbeque. There were many choices and some different offerings for sides. If in the area or at one of their other locations, I would definitely return.

“Amazing BBQ”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

I'm in love with the original 17th Street in Murphysboro, but the franchise in Marion is a little more of and "Outback Steakhouse" feel to it. The food is still amazing, but I prefer the setting and pub feel to the original.

“Good meal, nice casual surroundings”
Reviewed December 14, 2012

Good BBQ meal (I had beef brisket). I ate in the bar and at the rail as it was just me, but it is a full-service restaurant. Casual atmosphere a family could feel comfortable eating in (in fact, there was a family or two there in the restaurant part). Staff was friendly and attentive.

“Great BBQ”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Definitely worth a visit if you get the chance. Everything I had was really good, not really light fare, but that's exactly what a BBQ place should deliver.
