We stopped at this hotel on our way to Chicago and were not expecting much. However, they 'wowed' us with a very friendly front desk clerk who advised us on great local restaurants and gave us connecting rooms. Our room was clean, fresh, and had extra bathroom amenities which came in handy. The beds were fantastic and it was the best sleep I have had in a long time! The breakfast was good, plentiful, and served at the perfect time for our departure. The kids loved the pool.

Room Tip: Ask! They are happy to help.

We have been traveling all summer and try to stay in Holiday Inn Express whenever possible. The new HIE hotels as well as the remodeled ones have been extremely clean, comfortable and pleasant. This HIE however, did not fit that bill. It looked ok on the outside, but on the inside, it smelled old and it looked old. Either this is a very old HIE or HIE bought the building from another chain and stuck their label on it. Even the lobby is not typical of HIE. It is RIGHT next to the expressway. I was able to ask for a room away from the traffic, so I don't know what noise you can hear next to the expressway. The front desk staff wasn't rude, but they weren't overly friendly either. The hallways looked old. Even the room number signs outside the doors just looked old. The room was awful. The sink and mirror are right inside the room when you walk in the door. To use the sink you're right there in the room. Only the shower and toilet were behind a closed door. The AC unit rattled all night long. The bathroom was not clean (shower area or sink area), as I found hairs and we had not even been in there long enough for them to be ours. We had been traveling all day trying to get home due to a death in the family and this was NOT the hotel room I had hoped for after a long and exhausting day of driving. We almost didn't stay for breakfast the next morning because we were so ready to go, but we ended up grabbing a quick bite and hit the road. HIE, this hotel needs your advertised upgrade ASAP!

Very nice. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Awesome hot breakfast. Pool & hottub area well kept.. Efficient check in. All employees friendly and helpful. The in-room re-fridge was huge - double the normal "dorm room" size.

One odd thing - the refrigerator was right next to one of the beds (this was a std 2x double room). Annoying having a refrigerator hum right next to your head.

I can't say enough good things about my one night stay. The facilities and people were great. Just wish I could have stayed another day just to enjoy the atmosphere and the people who made it great.
