“Family Style Spread”
Reviewed September 11, 2012

We had a large group and choose the "Family Style" which included Fried Chicken which was great, home made Dumplings, mashed potatoes with real lumps left in, milk gravy, cold slaw, green beans corn and very good biscuits with apple butter. Our server was excellent, she made sure the the food kept coming and our drinks were topped off. I think its a very good value.

“Overall a good value”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

We had a group of 19 for the Sunday lunch. The fried chicken is awesome, coleslaw is great, dumplings is good.. Cobble deserts are very tasty.. corn & green beans .. eh. so-so.
The Service on the other hand (Mykle, I think her name was) was Supurb! Like I said, we have 19 people and she made sure everyone had what they needed and had the drinks topped off at all times.. great job!!

“Don't go for the Food”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

We visited the Giant City Restaurant today for their Sunday homestyle chicken dinner. We live in this area, so we have been there many times. Again today, we got what we expected. The fried chicken is very good. However, the sides are less than acceptable. Instant mashed potatoes, corn straight out of a can, green beans, something they call "dumplings", (nothing like any dumplings I have ever seen), gravy, and dry biscuits. The service was good today. Our server kept coming by and checking on us to see if we needed anything else. We were there around 1 pm and they were very busy. We had a short wait--maybe 15-20 minutes. The lodge and surroundings are beautiful. Just don't expect great food.

“A great family style chicken dinner awaits you”
Reviewed August 21, 2012

Went with the family style, all you care to eat chicken and fixin's lunch. Great chicken and a great old WPA/1930's lodge. Worth the drive into the park.

“Southern Fried Chicken Dinner”
Reviewed July 21, 2012

We went there because we'd heard about the Family Style Fried Chicken Dinner. The other items on the menu looked interesting, but we enjoyed the chicken with all the trimmings. It's also a neat old building which is an added benefit.
