Four of us decided to try the "new" Mickey Finn's the other night. The new building is very nice. The bar is at least twice, maybe three times, as big as the old one and there are a ton of tvs for the sports lover. There's a large room toward the back entrance for special occasions. On a Thursday night it seemed to be one of the in places to go.
The menu seemed somewhat limited-burgers, pizza, sandwiches with a few other choices and then some specials for the night. I had shrimp fajita tacos which were okay, but nothing to rave about. Two dining companions had the pulled pork sandwiches which our waiter assured us were great-a top seller. Neither were that impressed with it. Another friend had the brisket sandwich and thought the same-good, but nothing special. The waiter was very nice and tried to be as helpful as he could. It was difficult to carry on a conversation because it was so noisey in there-partially due to the very high ceilings. There was a wait to sit outdoors but not indoors. The hostess would not let four of us sit at a table near the outdoor section, where we could get some air, because it was for seven. We noticed that no one sat there all night. The beer drinker was happy with his choices, another was disappointed that there weren't more "hard ciders" to choose from. My cocktail was okay. We will probably be back just because it's in town.

TV's and bar are great...very tacky that they brought over the old booths and seating...feels disheveled and poorly done...not a "true booth" in the place.
Food was still limited because kitchen us not fully operational (poor planning) and their own beer was not available (again, poor planning).
We'll try again as the "old Mickey Finns" was always great, but now we're somewhat disappointed...

Love all of the TVs for sports viewing, the new bar is HUGE and the beer is cold. The limited menu until they get their legs under them is disappointing though, looking forward to a full menu.

Met girlfriends at the new Mickey Finns in Libertyville. Great open bright airy space. Love the long bar , line of T.V monitors and lots of windows. Great place to meet after golf, shopping or just want a great meal. Plus, you are within walking distance to some interesting stores and vibrant downtown area.

I had the smoked brisket sandwich. It was accompanied with coleslaw, fries and baked beans. It was delish. Perfect smokey flavor and tender. The fries were crisp and the beans were outstanding. Service was attentive and polite. my mom had the prime rib sandwich and commented how good it was. Only disappointment was they had no coffee at lunchtime. Still working out a few glitches like all new restaurant openings.

Don't miss the dingy interior and odd smell from the old spot. Look forward to returning soon.

Best of luck to the New Mickey Finns!
