Very nice atmosphere for a wedding reception. The food and service was fantastic. One very large bar for the entire group to drink at and then outdoor bar too which was nice at night too.

We've been golfing Cog Hill since the mid 1980's and had a permanent tee time until recently that alternated course 1, 2 and 3 each week. Each is distinctive, each has challenges for every level, and each course is fair. So are the rules of having a permanent tee time, such as if it's raining and a certain percent of people cancel that day you're not obligated to come out. And if you make all your tee times (or find a sub who will) we used to get a free round at the end of the season. Not sure if they still do that, but it's a nice touch.

There are good rates in the evening. We'll often walk. What a great experience for limited $$! If you're not worried about money, and don't mind sand, course #4 is a blast. Also hard to walk, but it's doable. Obviously...the pros do it at the tournaments that are often held on Dubs Dread. Very hilly, great conditions. Less than an hour from Chicago, depending on traffic. A piece of cake on weekends. Say hi to Frank Jemsek. Nice people who are passionate about public golf.

The courses and club house are beautiful, can't remember which course I played. I know it was not dubs dread

As an avid golfer I would strongly suggest a stop at Cog. There are 4courses to choose from. Prices are reasonable and the play is unpretentiously professional. End with a beer in the basement bar. Great fun.
