The decor is great. Love how the owners have incorporated a piece of their family history into the entire decor, and the name makes absolutely sense when you real all the information on the walls.
This place is very conveniently located and is the only place in that part of the street where one can sit outside. I like coming here during the summer where I can sit outside and watch the town.
However, I don't like coming here in the winters because I think it smells a little bit funny inside. I am sorry I have really tried my best to like this place as a hangout but I just can't stomach it.
Also, not happy about their excessive use of styrofoam. I have talked to them about it and the owners says that their styrofoam is not harmful. I have through my job studied plasticides and know that this styrofoam is releasing hormones each time the poor hot liquids into those cups. Also environmentally it is a disaster. I don't like to be bs'ed like this - perhaps they think the average customers in LB is uneducated but then they don't get the demographics of this area.
Would be nice if they would serve the coffees in real mugs and water in glasses etc. It would raise the level of this place considerable and the pricing really warrants for a bit more than a cafeteria feel of styrofoam and disposables.
Last time we had some dry older stale I think scones to go with the coffee - they were not worth mentioning and I only now recall the dryness.
Service is friendly but sometimes disorganized.
