This is not an Express location. It's a refurbished Convention Center style building. Rooms are small but adequate and my King room included a refridgerator, not listed under amenities. Has room service and full restaraunt on site.
Nicely updated with good linens and optional pillow menu-nice touch. Great location off I80 and a good value for the money.

Holiday Inn Joliet is comfortable and clean. The staff is very welcoming and down to earth.

Beds are comfortable. An array of pillows to choose from and if the kind you want isn't in the room, they'll bring you the kind you need.

Pool is really nice. They just filled it the day we arrived and it was already warm enough to get into since it's a heated pool.

Bathrooms are very clean. Decor is updated.

The only negative I can give is that the hotel resturant isn't open for lunch. So either eat the breakfast buffett late and grab an early dinner or go out for lunch. There are several eating establishments in the area.

Was in town for the Indy Car Series Race at the Chicagoland Motor Speedway and it had been awhile since I stayed at an HI so we choose this one. The hotel needs to make their sign taller and more visable for travelers not exiting off the freeway. We was able to check in ealier than the normal 3pm check in time. Although it was rather busy and took about 10mins to get to the desk!
There's nothing about the outside of the hotel to brag about, the paking lot is huge and is well lit. The elevators are small and slow, we could've beat the elevator to the 3rd floor using the stairs.
I was delighted upon entering our room to find it fresh and clean smelling, the linens had no stains and looked new. The bathroom was very super clean! and offered quality soaps, shampoos and body lotions.
Our bed was awsome! We slept like babies, felt like a very high end matress with lots of cushion and soft sheets/blankets. The rooms furnishings was up to date although the TV was your basic 27' tube type nested in an entertainment center the TV offered pay-per movies of all types ranging from $12.99 - &14.99. Checkout can be done via TV also.
We thought the prices for room service was high even for a basic continental breakfast at &4.95 and the Farmer plate at &6.95, many other choices are offered as well as a childrens menu. Room service is subject to a 20% gratuity and $2 delvery fee! Overall this is a very nice place and will stay again.

To be nit-picky, this is actually a Holiday Inn (not Express). My wife and I stayed here for one night after attending a wedding. Pulling into the parking lot we agreed that it wasn't the best-looking Holiday Inn we had ever seen. But, after walking into the lobby, our spirits were lifted. The lobby is basic, but nice and has a bar/restaurant area. The front desk staff were very friendly and it took us no more than 5 minutes to get checked in.

We stayed in a king bed room. It was what a person would come to expect from a Holiday Inn: bed made nicely, a table with two chairs in the corner, 25-inch (or so) TV, and a standard size bathroom. The TV did not have a full cable package, bu the 20 or so channels it had were sufficient for us. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows, which we were pleasantly surprised at. My only complaint about the room was that the bathroom towels were very stiff and even felt a little waxy, but even that wasn't a big deal.

I can't forsee myself needing to stay here again, but if I had to I wouldn't have any reservations about doing so.

This was by far the worst Holiday Inn i've ever stayed at. Our check-in was quick and went fine, but the problems started soon after that. After arriving in our room (#213), we realized our bathroom garbage had never been emptied-which was GROSS! Also, our heater was extremely loud. The whole place looked kind of run-down in general. The second elevator was not working, which we were also not informed of, and we spent about 75% of our rides in the main elevator with a man hauling very smelly garbage and/or linens. Now, i've ridden in plenty of elevators with housekeeping, etc in the past, but this was just a guy holding a ton of garbage bags and a huge basket of the stinkiest linens i've ever smelled.

Later that night we went out for an event and returned to the hotel. My SO fell in their very slippery and non-iced parking lot/entrance. We tried to inform the front desk of this, but the woman was too engaged in her personal-sounding phone call to even acknowledge us.

Another strange (but possibly nit-picky) thing was that there was no food vending machine on the 2nd floor. We went up to the 3rd floor, which had one, but it was not taking any paper money. Then we went down to the first floor, which worked fine, but we were charged more for some items than on the 3rd floor...strange.

Our check-out could not have come sooner. Unfortunately, though, the front desk/hotel again paid no attention to our complaint brochure and never even asked us how our stay went. We will DEFINITELY not be returning!
