I was looing for a suite hotel in the Northwest suburbs where we could have two beds plus a sofabed. The Hyatt Place Chicago Itasca turned out to be a solid choice.
The rooms were clean and spacious. The living room part was pretty comfortable. The bathroom was on the small end because the vanity/sink is part of the common area. This is helpful when multiple people are sharing a room.
The complementary breakfast was not too bad. In addition to fruit sald, muffins, bagels and toast, the hotel provided some hot items like ham, egg and cheese sandwiches. The only major issue was that some of the glassware and dishware were not totally clean after dishwashing.
The free wi-fi throughout the hotel was definitely a plus. It worked decently both in the room and in the lobby/dining area.
The location is not too bad if you plan to be in the Northwest suburbs. Access to O'Hare and I-290 was fairly easy. The shopping complex in Schaumburg (Woodfield Mall, Whole Foods, etc.) was a very short drive away.
Finally, the service was pretty top notch. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They even prepared a small take-out breakfast pack since we had to leave for the airport before their regular breakfast hours.More
