I presume this Westin Northwest was originally an Embassy Suites based on its design with a huge open atrium. Check-in was fine, although they did not give us the king bed we requested (said all they had available were double beds since this is the media hotel for the Ryder Cup this week). Our first night was uneventful but when we returned to the hotel tonight, some kind of Irish/Gaelic music live concert was going on in the lobby. Because of the hotel's design (with all rooms open to the central atrium) the music floated up to our room - and every other room in the hotel; and by floated up, I mean blasted non-stop for 3+ hours. It's still going strong as I write this. It would be laughable if it weren't so absurd. Never in my life have I stayed at a hotel that willfully imposed such an overbearing and disruptive "show" onto all of its customers. I'm sure the Ryder Cup media are enjoying this show, and good for them. But I would like to go to sleep and it sounds like the orchestra from 'Celtic Woman' is outside my door. When we called the front desk, their only response was, "didn't you get the letter when you checked in regarding the performance?" Uh, no I didn't. Unbelievable FAIL from this Westin.
