I went with my wife and two children 4 and 1. We had a wonderful experience on more than one occasion. BBQ was excellent, staff was very friendly. Service was fantastic. We loved this place and will return.

“From BBQ To Brownies”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2013

There have always been good restaurants in downtown Homewood, but few have been as delightfully different as the Twisted Q. And no other serves great cupcakes along with great BBQ.

While heavy with barbeque entrees, the eclectic menu offers everything from burgers and Italian beef to white chili (no beef or tomato) and burnt ends chili ("scraps that don't make it to your sandwich"), and the "Dirty Dog", a hot dog smothered in pulled pork.

Platters come with two sides; sandwiches with one side. The sides themselves are worth a visit. Tasty offerings include "Hot And Dirty Fries" (smothered in spicy pork and nacho cheese), and "Twisted Tamale" (pulled pork and cheese sauce layered with corn pudding). If you don't want pork or cheese, the corn pudding can be ordered by itself as a side, and adds a lot of flavor to your meal, as does the calico beans, a medley of different beans, served hot.

If you have room for dessert, there's a separate bakery selection to finish your meal. If not, you can still get something to take home for later.

All food is available to go, which is especially handy for commuters getting off the Metra at the nearby Homewood station, but it's also nice to eat in the pleasant atmosphere of the dining room.

A plate of ribs, a sandwich, or a brownie---they're all there at the Twisted Q.
