I have been to The Alley a few times. Once for an adult birthday party (they do great kids ones too) and another to see a "fundraiser" comedy show.
I think this is a good place for an impromptu adult birthday party that is a bit different than the norm. It was fun to have something to do (i.e. the bowling) rather than just sitting around drinking. The only complaint for an event such as this was there isn't a space for adults to stand around and talk. It seems that no matter where you stand you are always in someone's way. They did have live music playing that night. As it turned out an acquaintance of ours was doing a little jammin' with the band that night. The music was good, really fun and added an extra good vibe to the evening.
The comedy show was average to bad but you can't blame them for that, as it was sponsored by a local group and they were in charge of booking the comics. It was nice to do something different on a weeknight.
While other reviewers have commended the bartenders as friendly, I haven't really experienced this. While not outright rude, I wouldn't say friendly either.
I like this place as an alternative to the ordinary.
