“A very sad day…”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

One of the best restaurants in which we have eaten, excellent food and service. One of two we visit regularly.

Unfortunately, we just learned that they are closing as of September 1, 2013. We are heartbroken.

“Old Time Restaurant”
Reviewed June 1, 2013

Take 22 east to Green Bay and make a left. Restaurant is on the left about two blocks north. Plenty of free parking with their own lot, which is a plus. A great restaurant for atmosphere. Very comfortable. Multiple dining rooms. Menu is varied, with steak, ribs, fish, pasta. Bar with flat screen TVs. Looks to have meeting and/or party rooms as well. Calamari appetizer is very good. Had the baby back ribs and they were excellent. Service is attentive, although not overly so considering the restaurant was not full. Decor could use some updating.

“It's OK”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Granted most of the people frequenting the restaurant are of the older generation, but that has nothing to do with the restaurant itself. The waitress we had was very pleasant but not overly attentive - I never got a refill when my water was empty. The food was lukewarm but tasty but food selection was not very interesting. Back in the day it was the place to go - nowadays, there are too many places nearby to try.

“"I'll Take Your Order In a Minute" Times Five”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

It's hard to give a positive rating when the server breezes by you two times and loudly announces "I'll take your drink order in a minute", then does it three times again before taking your dinner order. Furthermore, this was one tough lady who must have another hobby or profession when not serving. But it's obvious from the number of customers who were known to the owner(s?) that this was a local hangout with many repeaters. Getting past that, this is typical "red sauce Italian" without any special character. Our Artichoke Fritters were good, but not much else was. We looked forward to having a good ribeye and were disappointed, as we were with the Veal Limone and accompanying salad. Perhaps the best dish was the Big Chocolate Cake. To summarize, we support another reviewer's suggestion that you "go down to street in either direction to...""
