“Very good, bring your coupons & read the fine print”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

We bought a deal from livingsocial for a 3 course meal for 2. Had artichoke fritters appetizer, steak entree, seafood mixed grill entree, and chocolate mousse dessert. First the good news: All of the food was delicious. Good Italian bread basket delivered right away, artichoke fritters crispy with nice pieces of fresh artichoke inside - a generous portion, mixed grill very nice - sea scallops, salmon, big shrimp, and a salmon fillet, steak good if slightly underdone. Had 1 vesuvio potatoes, crispy with rosemary but not overly spicy as the volcano name might suggest, and 1 alforno mashed, garlicy & creamy. Dessert was mousse in a chocolate shell, very good if pre-prepared. Meal was well paced and service just right.

Now for the fine print: First, menu prices on Bertucci's website were out of date so our plan for $30.95 entrees that our voucher included didn't quite work out as planned. Second, 18% fixed tip was calculated on full menu price, not on what we paid, plus tax (I never pay tips on tax!) Still, it was a reasonable deal if a bit more than double what the voucher cost out the door for tax, tip, and 3 drinks.

Just about everyone in the place seemed to have some sort of voucher or coupon. There's pretty good discounts on weeknights, too, plus one night they were having an "Order any appetizer and entree for $20". We asked if the $12.95 brunch is crowded; waiter said it's not because there are no coupons for brunch!

Overall, we'd return to try either the brunch or one of the weekly specials.

“Prime Time for Prime Rib”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

Friday night, dining with an old friend, drinks, tasty tossed salads, two King's cuts of prime rib with giant-size baked potatoes, one smaller Queen's cut, crusty bread and butter, desserts and coffee. The prime rib was outstanding, flavorful with jus and horseradish cream. And with drinks and tip, $40 a person, good service in a comfortable dining area. One of the best meals we've had at this restaurant in years.

“Ate very well and paid the price.”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

Took my wife out to dinner using a 2 for one deal. She had King Crab Legs I had the 12 oz. filet. The wait for the food was much longer than anticipated. If it weren't for the pleasant company, I might have been tempted to have the server check to make sure the chef was still awake. Took about 45 minutes for entrees to arrive. No complaints about the food. Grilled shrimp shared appetizer, soup/salad, entrees, dessert and coffee. We waddled out too full to walk normally. LOL. Only complaint was the bill of course. Watch the price of wine. I think we spent 15-20 or so on 2 glasses that were nothing spctacular. Total bill was around $150 with tip. Luckily I had the certificate so I only forked out $50 extra. Not a cheap date.

“Found this Jewel on Travelzoo”
Reviewed August 17, 2012

We tried this restaurant on a deal from Travelzoo. We really liked it. We ate outside and people watched. Even ran into old friends/business associates. We had the three course meal. Appetizers had many choices, we chose calamari which said it was four stars, and it was also huge. We then had two entrees. I had the grilled seafood with 5 sauces and my husband had veal parmesan. Both were excellent. Then we had the Bruce's special banana dessert. I had just finished off the last of the leftovers, and it was wonderful. We will definitely be back.

“Best kept secret on the North Shore”
Reviewed August 8, 2012

Being DINKs we eat out a whole lot. There just aren't many reasonably priced restaurants with excellent food, relaxing atmosphere and very good service down to even the busboy. The food, after all that is the reason for going there, is darn near perfect. We have been frequenting Bertucci's regularly now for several months and have yet to find something to gripe about. The food is cooked exactly the way we ask, it is flavorful without being doused in garlic or laden with heavy gravies. Their sauces are delicate and light in flavor and you don't taste them the rest of the day. The portions are generous and you do not go away hungry. We have tried both the regular menu as well as their Sunday Brunch. For the price, you cannot find another to come even close. Entrees like Tilapia, Prime Rib, creamed spinach, grilled chicken and the like are high end items seldom found at brunches for under $15. This is a find and a sleeper. Nothing like it for taking clients or guests for a business luncheon. It has the right atmosphere, great food, is well priced and has excellent service. What more can you ask for?
