What a great change of pace. It is rare to find south american cuisine, but Longitud315 has great options! Love their plantain chips and chimichurri sauce. They have so many gluten free selections too. I love their arepas too. Great intimate location in Highwood.

Great find in Highwood IL...restaurants abound in this suburb, but Longitude 315 is a great find! Small space with great Guatemalan food. Menu is diverse...lots of choices. Owner is friendly and all servers all great. Had a wonderful meal topped by a fabulous dessert! Can't wait to return

We were looking for someplace fun and different to celebrate my birthday and to send off our daughter and her boyfriend to second semester in Spain and Argentina, respectively. What we found was an absolute gem. The week after New Year's is quiet, so for us, all we heard was the lovely South American background music and our conversation. The food was outstanding, perfectly spiced, and creative. We started with plump, juicy shrimp appetizer, which was plenty for the five of us and the drunken mushrooms. Incredible. Mopped up sauce with the superb plantain chips and the verde sauce--yum. I had the Moro--stuffed with a delicious assortment of mushrooms, sauced to perfection, with the best black beans and rice ever. Also, the grilled asparagus were charred beautifully. Hubby's Cornish hen was huge and he loved it, but could only eat half, daughter's salmon also huge and with great spices and veggies. Other steak option and the corn cakes and chicken had rave reviews, too. Service was lovely and an amazing complimentary flan with a candle rounded out the meal. Kids enjoyed white wine sangria and we loved the La Flor Malbec. Can't wait to go back. Great with a group so you can taste lots of things!

The is South American fusion with flavors from various countries yet the foods are all familiar. The plantains with the chimichuri sauce was good enough to make a meal out of and I almost did. The skirt steak was perfectly cooked and the carmelized onions were no real surprise really but enhanced the dish. I even liked the fried Yucca pieces but thought they needed something. Everyone raved about the asparagus and the smoky flavor. The Choco-choco-lata dessert would have been100% better if it was room temperature; too cold to enjoy.
All in all would go back to try some of the other offerings. Be forewarned some of the plates are small plates so order accordingly.

I have to say that I felt disappointed in all respects. The food wasn't great and the portions were small. Our waiter was sullen. I couldn't believe they wanted to charge us $4.50 for an extra order of plantains. The seating wasn't very comfortable.
