Owner description: Once private, Highland Park is now a popular public course.

Played here a couple of times, and enjoyed the experienced.

The layout is reasonable, and has its share of strategic shots without going overboard.

Conditioning is pretty good, you can tell it was once private, but, with all municipal courses there are some areas which need attention.

Some tree trimming would be helpful.

Although large, the clubhouse is pretty utilitarian. Food and drinks are available, but, should you want a 19th hole with atmosphere, and (maybe) table service, this probably isn't the place.

A decent experience, worth a try.

Good golf course at the public level. well maintained and operated. Unfortunately, only noisy gas golf carts available. Practice area is a short ride from the clubhouse. food service is limited, but reasonable.

Highland Park is seriously under-rated. With twilight rates around $40, this course simply is the best value I have played anywhere. It is tight, with trees defining fairways, but you can usually find your ball and chip out. Conditioning was superb, greens rolled fast (guessing around 10 on stimp) and true. Lots of beauty and nature too, we saw groundhog (left of 5th green), woodpeckers, herons, lots of bird-life. Staff were super-friendly, especially Dan the starter, who couldn't have been more helpful. Loved this course, highly recommend.

The Highland Park Country Club golf course provides a moderate challenge for golfers of all handicap ranges. Tees accommodate the more advance players to the 'high handicappers.' The course is attractive and reasonably well maintained. There are some elevation changes and enough water to make it interesting.

Rates are quite reasonable and it is very walkable.

I live in Highland Park and play here often due to it's convenience. It has a large parking lot and is just off the highway.

Only drawbacks are little control over pace of play and a remote practice range.

Very friendly and helpful staff.

this old golf course is now open to the public
the redesign has made it not very safe
the fairways are too close
