Just outstanding. Idyllic setting and consistently helpful and friendly staff. I have previously stayed at (and reviewed) Cocoa Island and Baros Island and Mirihi is at least equal to those two.
We stayed five nights in the two bedroom over water bungalow and did a whole lot of activities including the whale shark seeker excursion, manta excursion, spa treatments, private outdoor cinema, and curry and wine tasting evening.
The highlights were undoubtedly:
1. Curry and wine tasting evening: Even if you have paid full board, don’t miss this. Seriously, just do it. It is simply divine. Fernando Is a world-class curry chef and Urs knows more about wine than is healthy for someone so young.
2. Private outdoor cinema: We watched Grease and had a blast singing along and dancing under the stars.
Typical of all three Maldivian resorts I have stayed at, every little detail was thought out and nothing was too much trouble. If you’re a foodie, Mirihi has a better range of food that the other resorts I have stayed at and it is expertly prepared and presented.
Of course this sort or quality and service comes with a price tag, but OMG it is so worth it!
The only aspects that were a little disappointing were completely beyond the control of the Mirihi team (the weather could have been better and we didn’t see a whale shark).
I need to mention the reef. If you are looking for pretty coral, Mirihi may not be the resort for you. The reef is quite badly damaged, storm damage presumably, and nearly all of the coral is dead. However, the marine life is varied, colourful and abundant. We saw sharks, turtles, rays and uncountable fish species.
If you are looking for a top shelf Maldivian experience, it would be hard to look further than Mirihi.
