Owner description: Famous for apple picking, hay rides, pumpkins, train rides, carousel, bakeshop, petting zoo
Reviewed November 5, 2011

We took our niece and nephew here last year at ages 1 and 3, and my husband and I returned by ourselves this year in early October. We loved it both times, but next time will come in September since it was very busy on an October Saturday.
They have a myriad of activities and a large variety of apples. The kids enjoyed the hayride out to the apples, even though you can also walk to the orchard. They have pumpkins you can pick, a country store, free petting zoo. A large playground for the kids. Multiple kids rides you can buy tokens for including a carousel and a train. There is a little restaurant we ate at last year with average food. On the weekends there are christian bands. There are also you-pick raspberries and blackberries which we did this year. Yum.
I think there was a $3 per car entry fee. We bought a 1 peck bag, which is a large bag and I think it was about $13.
All in all not bad for an afternoon of country fun. We'll be back every year!
Note: they are a very christian farm and are closed on Sundays.

Royal Oaks controls the distribution of bags when you bring a group. In our case they charged us for 20 bags more than the number of people we had brought. They required 2 year olds to have their own bags in addition to the ones that their parents were carrying for them. There is no compromise. They are right and the customer is wrong. We ended up having to spend $170 more than was collected for the trip, a cost that our preschool could not afford. We will not be going back.

Thank you for your review. We always appreciate feedback from our guests, whether it be positive or negative. This particular situation was resolved before the guest left the orchard and the husband of the group leader, who wrote this review was unaware that this situation had been resolved. We apologize again for any misunderstandings and are very happy this was resolved.
