“Interesting but crowded”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

This place has a huge number of stores, all laid out on one big floor. It gets very crowded. We had already visited Pleasant Priarie, Aurora and the new outlet mall at Rosemont, so were not really keen to add to the shopping unless the price was right. But it was still interesting to window shop etc. Parking is horrendous though!

“Just another shopping mall”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

I don't see where people think they are getting such bargins at this place. Parking is terrible, and gets even worse during the holidays, which we don't go at that time. When a store closes, and someone else wants to come in, many times, they take room from the already limited parking area, and build a store in its place. Like the new Macy's, took up a lot of what was parking. Same thing when Sears Grand opened. Also, even tho they have security, there are many younger folks there, not just teens, but maybe very early 20's, who shouldn't be allowed out in public. They just don't know how to act. We don't go very often, and that is fine with us. Never really found much in the way of bargins there anyway.

“nice mall”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

I don't consider Gurnee Mills as an "outlet mall". I dont even think they have an outlet store inside there mall. But I find this mall a good mall to shop. It's easy because everything is all in one floor. You're not going up and down escalators to go to stores, everything is just all in one floor. The down side about having one floor, it gets crowded easily, especially on the weekends. The food court is always jam packed and you can barely find any seats. The parking lot is also packed. You have to literally go down every isle to find a parking spot. There are only really two main restaurants inside the mall and they are Ruby Tuesday's and Rain Forest Cafe. Both good food, i just think it's a little over priced. They are remodeling it and is under new management. So far, they upgrading the look of the stores and the flooring. It's looking nice. Just be aware of the weekends, it gets crowded. Overall, it really is a good mall. It's just not an outlet mall.

“Lots of walking”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

This is an outlet-type mall with regular mall prices. It is very large, so be prepared to walk a lot! We live in the area and rarely shop here, but many people love this place, so give it a try at least once.
There is a multi-theatre movie complex next to the mall and other stores surrounding the actual mall. There is a food court, too. It is located near Six Flags Great America amusement park.

“not as wonderful as you might think”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

This is an "outlet" mall, but has very few true bargains. The layout is very difficult to manage, it's all one level and it goes in a big "S"--so be prepared to walk the entire mall to find what you are looking for. A new, non outlet Macy's just opened this week and there are other regular stores as well (Kohl's, Sports Authority, etc.) It is conveniently located right off of the highway, but if you go another 15 minutes north into Wisconsin there is a much better true outlet mall called Lakeside where they have real outlets, bargain prices.

If you are not into food courts and chain restaurant food, don't eat here. The parking lots are a disaster--with lots teens/young adults just hanging around.
