Review of BurgerFi

BurgerFi
Ranked #23 of 173 Restaurants in Glenview
Certificate of Excellence
Description: Your local BurgerFi isn’t some industrialized fast food giant. They were started in a gourmet kitchen, by gourmet Chefs. Not knowing fast food, the back of the house is built to be less burger joint, more five-star restaurant. When they needed a sauce, the Chefs didn’t call a food supplier. They started chopping. Mixing. Cooking. Making better choices. BurgerFi is better to people: serving only the finest natural, certified angus burgers, dogs, hand-cut fries, frozen custard, craft beer, wine and more. They’re better to the environment: each location is built to environmentally sustainable best practices and includes earth-friendly elements. And, they’re better to animals: sourcing from one of the best ranches in the country. Where cattle roam free. Breathe mountain air. Eat grass and are treated humanely. BurgerFi never waivers from this high standard. This doesn't come easy. Certainly not cheap. Truth is there are simpler ways to put a burger on a bun. But, they're not better.

Of the upscale fast food hamburger places this has to rate near the bottom. The service was poor and the burger average at best. The fries seemed to have been cooked in old oil, since they were both dark and a good portion of them hard. For two double burgers, one with bacon and one order of fries, the prices were very high. For my wife and I we felt the other places in the area offer more for the money.

The restaurant was clean and look appealing, but that is not enough to go back.

This place is kind of an upscale burger joint. It's clean and the food was better than average for burgers, but what got my attention most was the enthusiasm of the management and the cooks. Everything is cooked out in the open.

Since I work in the area, I stopped in for lunch. First impression? Very overpriced. I had a double burger, fries and a soda. That set me back 12. The fries were just under $3 as was the drink. The burger was average at best. Taste was decent but the size of the burger was smaller than expected. The fries were below average and the drink had to be one of the biggest contributors to their profit margin.

The building is brand new but the seats were not particularly comfortable. Service was slow. There was a reference to televisions being everywhere but I counted two televisions. Music was loud. Considering everything, you can do better at Smashburger or Meatheads.
