Walter took great care of us tonight. The place was electric and the food was fantastic. There is a great beer and wine list. You will love this place. Call ahead to get a table quicker.

Flour + Wine definitely shakes up the Glen Ellyn restaurant scene. The place starts buzzing early with families, young couples, and just about everyone! The wood-fired pizzas are delicious (with inventive toppings such as pistachios) and the slightly charred flavor of the grilled romaine salad with leeks & pancetta was a delectable excitement to the palate. Everything was artistically prepared with the best, freshest ingredients. The sophisticated, casual atmosphere is warmed by brick walls, deep wood tones, and a mixture of booths & tables. The service was polished and spot-on. Food was presented rather quickly, but we never felt rushed. My only dislike was the noise level (including a screeching baby at a neighboring table), but we won't hesitate to return to this vibrant establishment whenever we have a craving for wood-fired pizza. Also, iI'll be hard to forget the grilled salad - that alone is enough to bring me back!

I have now been to flour + wine 5 times, having tried 5 different pizzas. They are all good, the pancetta and arugula being the best. I would have to agree with a previous reviewer that it is quite loud in the restaurant, but it is reflective of how popular the place is. I have known five different restaurants to previously reside at this location, but I think this may be the best of the bunch. The area has been screaming for something like this.

This place was *jammin* on a Friday night when my wife and I went here. In a sentence: great wood-fired pizza, monster awesome dessert and the sound level of behind a 747 jet taking off at O'Hare.

Flour + wine is a great place to go out with friends. We saw a lot of kids on dates, young married couples and families with a lot of kids.

After a 25-minute wait to get in, I was prepared not to like it, but the waiter won me over. He was chatty, quick with the food and ready to pour more drinks. We left a good tip.

Knowing this would be a carbo binge, we each got the delicious house salad: fennel, candied pecans, butter lettuce, gorgonzola cheese and house vinaigrette.

There are 10 choices of wood-fired pizzas and we selected the local sausage + raisins: sausage, fennel, mozzarella, pecorino romano cheese, tomato sauce, sesame seeds and -- get this -- golden raisins. The crust was perfect and the flavor made me glad to have taste buds.

We decided we'd only live once and ordered the nutella and banana calzone. It was so big, that people from other tables asked us what the heck we ordered. The waiter predicted we wouldn't be able to finish it and he was right. It was probably thousands of calories and it was totally worth it.

The manager came over at the end of the meal, gave us a big smile and asked how our meal was. I really like it when management stops by to get feedback.

Be warned: the noise level at this place is somewhere between the Metra locomotive roaring nearby and the din of traffic from the Crescent Avenue bridge over I-355.

Dinner for 2 without alcohol was $35 plus my wife's extravagant $7 tip.
