Food was excellent, nice wine list. Service is always good and the owner or manager almost always comes out. We always leave full and satisfied. Not too stuffy to bring children and the garden out front is a nice touch. Appreciate their charity nights also, particularly the opera night. Place is a little small and crowded but adds to the small town family feel.

Absolutely loved this restaurant. From atmosphere to wine selection to food. Nothing went wrong during the entire night. Another reviewer said it best when they said "you almost feel like you're on vacation". Something about this restaurant makes you forget that you're in a little town in IL. They have live entertainment on Saturday nights in the Martini lounge that tends to carry a bit of an older crowd but if you're a people watcher it is sure not to disappoint.

I get nervous when eating heavy italian meals sometimes it just...well...doesn't settle well with me. And i can't rave enough how great our meals were. The bruschetta is to die for and the Farfalla Al Sole ($15) was just superb.

If you're in the mood for italian this is the sure place to go!!

Six of us were in Geneva for a wedding last weekend. Looking at a restaurant close by & based upon trip advisor reviews, we chose Villa Verone for dinner. We made a wise choice! It's housed in a beautiful old building -- nicely appointed & comfortable. We were greeted warmly & escorted to our table on the second floor. Within moments our server appeared, bringing with her a welcoming smile & greeting. She quickly answered our questions about the menu, told us about the specials, & gave her recommendations after inquiry. The menu is extensive & varied, making it difficult to choose just one entree. Salad and/or soup are extra.

That being said, what we really came for was the food. A+ all the way! I opted for the trout special served over angel hair pasta. Superb! Good-sized portion as well! My wife & friends ordered different entrees & gave their "thumbs up," too. Each couple split a scrumptious tiramisu for dessert. Light & flavorable, it was one of best tiramisus I've ever had. We all left full & satisfied. Service was outstanding. Our water glasses never were empty.

Villa Verone also has an outside patio. It was a bit too cool that night, but with warmer weather it would be a great place to dine. I definitely recommend this restaurant & will go again whenever we're in the Geneva area.

We've eaten here before but for whatever reason, it feel off our radar. Decided to try it again (a year later) and we were pleasantly surprised. The menu was a wonderful mix of italian comfort food and meals that were slightly out of the everyday. The fixed price dinner was a nice change. For $80/per couple, you receive1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 1 bottle of wine and 1 dessert. Plenty of food for the two of us. Service was good. Atmosphere was quaint and charming; set in a typical "Geneva" home with an outdoor garden/seating area. Refreshing change of pace.

Villa Verone is one of those places that once discovered, will keep you coming back. We live in Geneva, and clearly have plenty of restaurants to choose from, but Villa Verone offers that cozy, intimate dining experience that most restaurants can't offer.

In all honesty, the food is fine. Not the best Italian I've ever had, but I've never been disappointed. The service is good but the atmosphere is what brings me back.
