We read the various reviews on this restaurant and decided to give it a try. As described the ambiance is neat being in an old house and a small train running over our dining room. We sat looking out onto a beautifully leafed tree to cut the third street view. We ate an early dinner and my wife and I tried dishes we had never had before - salsalito fettuccine and linquini and clams. My wife's dish had both crab and shrimp which she said was excellent. I'd never had clams before however I found it to be very good, though I wasn't expecting them to shredded in the dish. Agree with other reviews that a half order is a good serving and allows room for desert. Service was excellent. We noted a number of service staff coming on duty so we asked if we had come later would recommendations be required. Though not required, highly recommended between 6 and 8 PM. We'll be back to try other dishes.

Chiantis has been in Geneva for years and the food has not changed. The food is excellent and the prices are reasonable. Lunch portions are available for dinner and are just the right size to leave room for dessert. I have had several menu options and have never been disappointed.

We love this little gem hidden in the Downtown area of Geneva. Pretty standard Italian fare, but there is something special about this place that keeps us coming back. The menu is good size with 3 or 4 specials every weekend, including seafood. The portions are offered in 2 sizes so if you want to get an appetizer or 2, you can adjust the price and size of the entree. Service is always friendly and good. It can get busy, so reservations are needed to eat before it's late. The eggplant parm. is very good. A standard to judge any Italian Restaurant.

Geneva is such a bustling place, with so many atttractions, it is easy to miss Chianti's. The place is a gem. The service is friendly, which is not that unusual really - but you don't always find people who have been waiting at the same restaurant for more than two decades!
The best part is the glass lined west wall. You can sit at a table there, and watch the people come and go down 3rd Street, like in the olden days, while you sip your wine or, better yet, the imported toast baguettes served with some out-of-this-world garlic sauce.
The place is relaxing and unpretentious, with a quaint old railroad toy running aimlessly up along the walls, close to the ceiling.
If you happen across a sunny afternoon, warming by the window, be careful, or you will catch yourself meowing...

Great ambiance, great food at a reasonable price! We went early on a Friday around 5:00 to beat the crowds.
