“Needs to be on your "go to" list”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2014

We've eaten here multiple times--both dinner and brunch, inside and outside. The food may not knock your socks off but it never disappoints. It's good solid food and very well done. I was there with family and I ordered a strip steak and my son-in- law ordered a porterhouse. Both were perfectly cooked exactly to order--I ordered mine "blue" (charred outside and cool inside) which even good steakhouses have trouble getting right and they got it spot on. And it was one of the tenderest tastiest steaks I've had in a very long time! This is a place to go when you want to just enjoy each other and not have to worry about getting a good meal and decent service. It's become a regular on our list.

“Excellent Filet Mignon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 19, 2014

My husband and I chose the Wildwood Restaurant as the place to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary because we saw that they serve Escargot as an appetizer. The escargot was delicious, as were the Wedge salad and the Baby Greens salad with creamy basil dressing. We both chose an 8-oz. filet mignon, done exactly medium rare, as we had ordered. My side of the bistro redskins, and his side, the creamed spinach, were also excellent. The salad and one side were included in the meal. Our server, Rachael, was welcoming and bubbly and there to serve whenever we needed her. The dining room is elegant, but comfortable and wasn't crowded when we arrived at 6:00 p.m. After our dinner, Rachael brought us a complimentary large serving of chocolate cake with strawberries and whipped cream in honor of our anniversary.

“Lovely Brunch in Geneva”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2014

The decor is charming, a wealth of dark wood and glass. It is an open kitchen, but well ventilated. The bar is a separate room which I would imagine controls noise level during busier times. We were there for brunch and seated promptly as reserved. Service was prompt, pleasant and professional by each staff person. Bellini's were not on the drinks menu, but one was cheerfully supplied. Our brunch dishes were excellent. The food was tastefully presented and seasoned. Complimentary beignets and fresh fruit are a complimentary surprise. We felt it a lovely Sunday morning adventure.

“Very good but poor service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 13, 2014

We ate dinner here on a Saturday night for the first time and loved the place but unfortunately the service we had was poor. Just didn't get a warm welcome from the server. No specials or helpful hints on what's good. Was promised someone to come and dress the baked potato my husband ordered but nobody ever came and it wasn't even addressed after that. The food was good but medium is pretty rare. Waited about 20 min for a dessert menu. The couple next to us ordered dessert but waited for utensils to eat it with. My hot tea did not come with lemon or any type of sweetener. It was extremely busy and I just think the help was lacking. I would definitely give it another try but it just wasn't a great first impression. It was in a great part of town

“One of the best in the western 'burbs”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2014

Here's the deal. We are not food snobs BUT we are blessed to have travel extensively throughout the world. People can say what they want based off their experiences and that's great. Bottom line, Wildwood is one of the BEST restaurants west of Chicago and here's why. When offered, fresh fish is excellently prepared. Wine list - something for everyone. 8 oz. filet is like butter. Wait staff is some of the best (Tiana, Rachel). Sweet potatoes to die for. Home made blue cheese dressing on salad wedge - some of the best I've ever had and would love the recipe. Nice, nice atmosphere - whether with a group or romantic dinner. Super sexy bar - dress to impress (yes, even in a "small town"). And yes, they're not perfect - who is. BUT they are gracious to resolve any issues (medium vs medium rare). Felt appreciated. $140 includes high quality steaks, side dishes, medium priced bottle of wine AND nice tip. Best value/experience around.
