My wife and I spend the weekend in Galena and stayed at Abe's Spring Street Guesthouse. We stayed in Albert's Glen. It was a very unique guest room, but it was very spacious and comfortable. The room had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. We loved the seating area and the cozy fireplace. We also loved all of the wonderful bronze work and tile that was all done by the owner. It made the place one of a kind. The guesthouse was also very close to downtown and on the main road going out to Walmart. I know, you think what, why Walmart... We found this convenient because they had a redbox and could rent a movie for the evening and curl up by the toasty fireplace. Breakfast was excellent. Sandy made an amazing feast for us each day and we really enjoyed visiting with her in the mornings while she cooked. She shared the history of the guesthouse, which was the Brewery in Galena back in the day. We didn't get to meet her husband, but visited their pottery store next to the guesthouse and bought a couple of wonderful pieces. We loved this place and will definitely stay there again.
