I think the reviews above are from the days of the previous owners and the elderly woman that ran had no incentive to make things nice, and was leaving it up to others to maintain.
I spent my honeymoon there from Chicago last weekend. Its pwas a perfect escape from the city. The cabins are all very old, rustic and charming, huge stone fireplaces, and was clean as a whistle. The sheets were 800 thread count, the candles were everywhere, and the owners were gracious and attentive.
I pre arranges to have rose pedals in the bath and on the bed, along with chocolates and wine, and they did it perfect.
If you want a authentic cabin on a farm outside of town, and privacy not offered by a Bed and Breakfast, this place is ideal. They are really great, and I will be back for sure. One cool thing is all the sine corks that have been pushed into every holes and cranny on the wood walls and ceiling from the previous guest, along with coins for good luck.
The Guestbooks are loaded with people great comments from the romance to the seclusion they offer for a couple.
My travels are worldwide, for work, I stay in 5 Star boutique Hotels in NYC, London, Milan, Paris, Tokyo and Bangkok, and for leisure travel, some 30 trips to Costa Rica for surfing, 6 to SE Asia, including one month each in Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Burma, I am a expert on value, cleanliness and luxury, and these cabins are just what we wanted. My new bride is a Journalist from Beijing, and has travelled China from one end to the other, and LOVED it.
The dogs there so fun too...just like home.
