As a local, city owned museum, I wasn't sure this was worth the time. Boy, was I wrong. The most spectacular part was the Civil War display on the second floor. The US Grant artifacts and displays were thorough and informative. But the centerpiece was the original, mural sized painting "Peace in Union." it's awe-inspiring; No wonder the Smithsonian wants to acquire it...but it should stay right where it is. Another fun feature is the welcoming hologram.
