We took a quick weekend getaway and stayed in a settlement house. I know the houses' updates and decor vary, but we were very impressed with the cleanliness and updates of the one we chose. The grounds are very pretty though we picked a cold weekend. We were hoping to go horseback riding and canoeing though walking around the grounds was nice. We ate breakfast at the Woodlands restaurant and dinner at the woodlands lounge with both having good food and great prices. It is a very romantic stay with a fireplace and privacy though also a very family friendly area. It was convenient to downtown. Also, all the staff we came in to contact with were very willing to accommodate any question we had. Highly recommend for an extended weekend getaway!

Been going to Eagle Ridge since the mid 90's with a large group, golf used to define Eagle Ridge, now over the past 5 years, it seems that it is the last thing on the mind of management. It appears, more times then not, that there is no management at any of the courses. One person handling the bags, starting, handing out range balls, and no rangers?? We were told by the bev girl that she was working 2 courses, so she will not be around as often...not the way to be treated, anywhere.

The golf courses themselves are outstanding, the condition of them is a little shaky, but not terrible. The problem is, there are alot of really good golf courses around the Chicago area, that want our business, and do what they can to earn our business. In the meantime, Eagle Ridge continues to raise prices, continues to cut the service, and continues to let us down.

This was my first time staying at Eagle Ridge. I requested a room with a King size bed. We walked into our room and basically it was a square room with furniture thrown inside. This room had no dimensions. It felt so weird like we were staying inside a storage unit. The resort itself should make some changes. Their coffee
shop closes at 2pm. Why so early? It would have been great to grab a cup of Starbucks and sit outside and read mid afternoon or have a cup after dinner. Also their gift shop closed at 7 pm. The first nite we were there it was unseasonably cold so it would have been nice to,been able to buy a sweatshirt .
The positives- really great spa. Had an awesome massage. Amenities in spa great. Bar in resort convenient for food and drink. Live music on weekends. Staff at resort all very friendly and helpful.

Just spent a three day weekend golfing at Eagle Ridge. The weather was spectacular and the golf was every bit as good. I was up there with 12 buddies in a friendly little competition. The courses were in great shape and the staff was very accomodating. What you'll really enjoy is the variety and level of challenge brought by each course. It is truly a great place to golf in a beautiful midwestern setting. Give it a try.
